Flood Situation in Chakwal and Talagang After Heavy Rain on 16 July 2025

Heavy rain hit Chakwal and Talagang on 16 July 2025. Many areas saw over 300 mm of rain in one day. In Lalyandi, the rain was even heavier, reaching 427 mm.

This much rain caused water to flood streams and low-lying areas. Many streets filled with water. Homes were damaged. Some walls collapsed and water rushed inside houses. In Budhiyal, the strong flood swept away cattle and broke walls. People had to leave their homes and spent the night outside, looking for high ground.

In Khewal, a father and son died. Their family was trapped by the flood. The mother, who is pregnant, and another son were hurt. These floods affected other places too, like Arar Mughlan, Takiya Shah Murad, Mohra Mast, Khanpur and Choa Saidan Shah. People lost cattle and their homes were filled with water.

Poor families suffered the most. Many people live in houses with weak roofs made of tin or wood. The heavy rain caused many roofs to leak. Families tried to save their belongings but water kept coming in. Some had to sleep on wet floors or move outside to find shelter.

Vehicles got stuck in the water on the roads. Some were completely covered. Many people could not travel to work or take their children to school. Streets turned into ponds and traffic stopped. People were upset and protested in their local areas.
